Baby #3

I almost forgot how to post on this blog...it's been awhile. As of today, Baby #3 is at 19 weeks, due October 14th. This pregnancy has been relatively easy compared to the first two except for about 2 months of nausea. When we found out in February everything was fine. By the beginning of March, the smell of food was making me sick and I was constantly tired even after sleeping 12 hour nights and 2 to 3 hour naps when the girls slept. That all went away though by about week 16 or 17.

During this time I was missing Brazil more than I had missed it since we’d moved back to the U.S. I missed the doctors and even more importantly my maid. During my second pregnancy, I didn’t have to clean or cook. Cooking for the girls was definitely the most challenging part. They have to eat and someone has to cook for them.

Now at 19 weeks everything is pretty much back to normal. I’m no longer sick, no longer missing my maid, and happy with the OB doctor that we’ve found. The doctor visits are similar to those we had in Brazil. The main difference is ultra sounds are not done at every appointment and everyone speaks English. Portuguese is fun, but sometimes, it’s just really nice to be able to speak English.

We have our middle of the pregnancy ultra sound scheduled for June 3rd and find out if we’re having a boy or a girl. We’re not particular just praying that the baby is healthy.

Vivi at three and a half has been really fun with this pregnancy too. Yesterday, we were laughing about something and she said, “Mommy is the baby laughing? Did she think that is funny?” And every so often out of the blue Vivi will ask, “Mommy how’s the baby doing today?”
