We are reading The Year at Maple Hill Farm by Alice and Martin Provensen this week. The best part for the girls are the illustrations. They're beautiful. Viv is still naming all the horses on every page, "There's Rio, Ranger, Magio, Vana, and Chief." (The names of my sister's horses.) The book begins in January and goes through all the seasons with life on a farm.
