Churrasco

This picture was not taken in Brazil but in Iowa!

Josh hosted our first churrasco on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It was a wonderful time and well worth all the planning.

To prepare for this day, Josh first found a butcher and explained to him what pieces of meat he wanted and how they should be cut. Josh had the help of Gladimir, a fellow Brazilian-expat, for this. On the day of the party, Josh, Gladimir, and Eduardo, Gladimir's son, met at 5:30am to drive to the farm to start the ribs by 7:30am. The ribs need to cook for 6 hours. It was a beautiful day. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Josh was exhausted by the end of it but he said it was well worth it and maybe even found a new calling...Churrasco Chef!
