Iowa State Fair

I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from Vivi's first trip to the Iowa State Fair. We left Valentina with my parents and the three of us went the Fair on the 17th. It was the first time I'd been to the Fair in 4 years and even though Josh calls me an Iowa State Fair guru, I thought a lot had changed. Plus, this was the first time I got to experience the Fair through Vivi.

Lunch at the Beef Tent.

Some really nice man let Vivi sit on the bleechers while we waited for the Brown Bear show to begin.

This was not my idea. Vivi ran for these and said, "Mama, come on!"

Petting a lamb at the Learning Center.

One of the pig litters.

Not interested in the magic ag show. We left shortly after this picture.

The Little Hands on the Farm exhibit was great. Vivi walked through all the stations. Here she is getting vegetables from the garden.

Then she picked apples off the trees. Everything is fake but she still had to try it out.

Driving a tractor.

Milking a cow was her favorite. I think she's been fascinated with milking cows since we went to the fair in Santo Angelo in May. We went to the Youth Pavillion in Waterloo last week and they have a cow to milk which she returned to many times over.

  1. Mmmm. . . fried foods galore! I'm sad we missed the fair! Maybe that man was super nice because his cup was almost empty! I've always wanted to milk a cow too! Guess we'll have to return to the fair in a few years! Glad to see you went!
